Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
Altair is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the development team of OptiStruct, a commercial finite element code. The candidate will be mainly responsible for developing core Finite Element Analysis (FEA) capabilities in Fortran, C and/or C++. It is required that candidates bring in-depth knowledge about FEA formulations in general, and nonlinear explicit and/or implicit finite element analyses in particular.
Responsibilities:
- Derive FEA formulations related to contact, elements technology, material laws, etc.
- Develop solutions on a large code system. Collaborate with other developers to maintain the code architecture.
- Develop core FEA capabilities in Fortran, C and/or C++.
- Software testing and debugging. Creating test models with a good understanding of mechanics and engineering applications.
- Work collaboratively on a team with little or no supervision.
- Analyze solution failures systematically and work towards robust solution quickly.
