The job

The Automation Development team is looking for Software Development Engineer in the architecture & platforms focus team. With this position you will be responsible for the development of advanced control systems solutions for all Alfa Laval core products. As our new Software Development Engineer, you will develop our control system solutions in an agile environment throughout the whole product lifecycle. That includes:

  • Creating scalable control system architecture for Alfa Laval’s global needs through cross-site collaboration.
  • Contributing to a vibrant workspace where knowledge sharing, delivering as a team and face-to-face interaction are vital components.
  • Developing web-based HMI using our design language.
  • Collaborating closely with our UX designers to enhance user experiences.
  • SW engineering through breakdown of features, task specification, SW development, testing, documentation, source code management, deployment, and issue tracking.
  • Working in Sprints as a part of a self-organizing team, contributing to the evolution of our products.

At Alfa Laval, we offer a hybrid work model with the opportunity to work from home when it fits with your tasks. The position is based in Lund, Sweden. Travel is expected to be approximately 25-30 days a year.
What you know

We are looking for an engineer at bachelor or master level combined with at least 5 years related work experience with following competences and experiences:

  • University degree (Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science or Software).
  • Experience in Software Engineering and Architecture.
  • Experience in object-oriented Software Development Models & Methods (OOP, S88, UML).
  • Structured Text or other text-based programming like Python, C or C#.
  • Experience in PLC and/or embedded real-time programming and HMI design.
  • Knowledge of web technologies, including HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Interest in Agile Methods and Tools (SCRUM, DevOps).
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
  • Knowledge of GIT or other version control systems is a plus.
