Job Description
We are looking for a passionate Software Engineering Manager (m/f/d) who is dedicated to delivering high-quality software solutions and embraces the challenges of the ever-changing web development landscape.
The product development organization is expanding with each new product. Your task within the management team will include:
- Collaboratively structuring the overall organization for maximum scalability, even across international locations.
- Leading a team of 4 to 6 software engineers, focusing on hiring, coaching, mentoring, and hands-on career development.
- Creating a cloud-based architecture (AWS) and application environment that is well-tested through automated testing and secure.
- Actively advancing agile software development practices.
- Growing and inspiring a culture of engineering excellence and knowledge sharing while retaining team independence and velocity.
- Facilitating collaboration towards a shared domain-driven architecture and tackling the challenges of multi-team development with solid architectural principles.
- Participating in technology discussions to ensure an ambitious but achievable software development process, focusing on CI, testing, and operational efficiency.
- Maintaining and stabilizing current systems while supporting the programming of new systems and integrating them into the international product portfolio.
- Providing guidance and direction by making difficult decisions and engaging in intense discussions with team members, demonstrating diplomacy and leading by example.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficient in developing highly scalable software products.
- Deep understanding of domain-driven software architecture and experience programming with PHP for back-end development and React for front-end development.
- Ability to write well-architected, efficient, and maintainable code while actively ensuring the quality of the codebase.
- Comfortable working with senior stakeholders (Directors or C-Suite), both technical and non-technical.
- Prior experience leading teams in a fast-changing environment.
- Thinks and acts like an entrepreneur, making decisions based on important business metrics.
- Willingness to remain hands-on with coding, dedicating approximately 30% of your time to programming tasks.
- Successfully built and grown teams of engineers in previous roles.
- Committed to and driven by quality, technical excellence, and results.
- Fluency in both German and English.
