ABOUT YOU:

We’ll value your proven initiative, problem solving abilities and ways in which you have shown leadership while performing your role.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Payments / Cards Switch Experience
• Understanding of Agile Tools & Ceremonies
• Some knowledge of Card Issuing and Acquiring systems
• Analytical thinking - logical, and able to use the information in hand to work through issues and find solutions
• Great communication skills - able to work with other business units to gather requirements and requests, interpret these, and articulate them clearly to the team

In addition, the following would be an advantage:

• Banking and experience
• ISO20022 protocol knowledge and experience
• Agile and Azure DevOps experience

ABOUT THE ROLE:

In this role you will contribute to the success of ASB’s Payments Platform. Helping New Zealand build better businesses. We are all about creating better experiences for our customers and our people who serve NZ businesses.
As a Senior Software Engineer in the Payments Platform, you will be an important part of our Cards Modernisation Program engaging with our Architecture, Integration, internal and external stakeholders and software vendors to build and maintain world class Card Payments Solutions. You will help facilitate and coordinate work to enable future fit Card Issuing, Acquiring and Processing.
Being part of the Engineering Practice at ASB we encourage our teams to work autonomously in an agile way while actively growing their skills and expertise to continuously improve outcomes for our customers. We advocate for T-Shaped teams which will take you through all facets of engineering in any given day.
You’ll have the opportunity to get hands-on with some interesting and complex pieces of work that integrate on an enterprise scale, all while being part of a smaller squad that makes their own decisions about how to work through prioritisation - so your voice will be heard, and your opinions valued.
