• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer ideally with a focus on media-related projects.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios.
• Knowledge of software development tools and technologies.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer with a passion for mobile technology and extensive expertise in Android development to join our team supporting a leading media client. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the entire development lifecycle, including creating new features, resolving bugs, and conducting thorough code reviews.
You will have the opportunity to work on the Short Form Video team of the client’s primary video streaming application used by over 16 million people whilst working in a highly cross functional and autonomous environment. You will be a confident, proactive and inquisitive developer who cares equally about user value, business value and code quality.
The successful applicant will have experience of modern Android application development using Kotlin and JetPack Compose, enjoy writing high quality and extensible code, experience of following an Agile Scrum methodology, enjoy experimentation and innovation and have experience of deploying to the PlayStore.

ESSENTIAL KEY SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You will:

• have extensive experience of Kotlin and JetPack Compose
• have at least 5 years of Android application development
• have experience of writing high quality code and following pair programming, clean code, TDD and automated testing best practices
• have professional experience of working in projects using Agile Scrum development processes
• enjoy experimentation and innovation
• have experience using Play Store and CI/CD deployment knowledge
• be confident, inquisitive and proactive with questions and knowledge sharing
• have experience of Java and XML layouts (desired)
• have experience of media/streaming applications (desired)
• have experience of cloud platform technologies e.g. AWS Lambda or EC2 (desired)
• enjoy collaborating with other engineers
• have a strong willingness to learn and be a keen team player
• have experience of writing and taking responsibility for technical documentation
