Job Description
Our Electronics team in Cambridge provides support for our customers in projects that range from short-term prototype applications to production-level systems. Projects can encompass all vehicle electronic control systems and may include CAV applications, internal combustion engine control, electric vehicles, electric power steering, etc.
To support the continuing expansion of IDIADA activities in the UK, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Electronics team.
This role will be based in Cambridge, United Kingdom, regular travel to customer sites and IDIADA may be required.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of real-time software development in a high-integrity environment (automotive, medical, aerospace).
Key responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement embedded software for automotive applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software with hardware components.
- Optimize code for performance, reliability, and resource efficiency.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior team members.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues.
- Stay up- to- date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Ensure compliance with automotive standards such as AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, and MISRA C.
Qualifications
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Familiarity with AUTOSAR architecture and implementation.
- A good understating of OBD infrastructure software requirements.
- Proven experience of NXP 5xxx microcontrollers.
- An understanding of automotive applications including EV powertrain, internal combustion engine control, battery management systems etc.
- Experience with model-based development tools (e.g., Simulink, TargetLink)
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles for automotive systems.
- Experience with machine learning and AI applications in automotive contexts.
