We are seeking a Software Developer to join our Digital Tax Solutions team (‘DTS’) to work on exciting and innovative projects within our business.

As part of this role your key responsibilities will include:-

  • Developing software solutions leading a development team working on a product build using an Agile methodology;
  • Managing your own workload and deliverables, and those of the development team as a whole, using our DevOps tools;
  • Bringing deep experience of the latest technology platforms and tools to bear on our innovative products and offerings, and coaching others in the team with their learning;
  • Embedding a high standard of quality through testing and code review throughout the team;
  • Working with developers in our offshore centres as part of the delivery of our products;
  • Leading knowledge sharing, peer review and group meetings across our Engineering team and the wider group;
  • Representing the development team with the Product Managers and Business Analysts on our products to understand business requirements, dependencies and timelines;
  • Building relationships with stakeholders and customers where necessary to develop a good understanding of the business context and complex requirements.

CONNECT TO YOUR SKILLS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Information Systems or Computer Science or related discipline
  • Strong experience of developing software in one of the following technologies:
  • An object-oriented language (C# preferred);
  • SQL or NoSQL databases (SQL Server or MongoDB preferred);
  • Front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS, Javascript frameworks – Angular preferred);
  • Cloud services (Azure preferred);
  • Software design & architecture;
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams with Agile project management frameworks;
  • Experience with source-code & project management solutions eg GitHub, Azure DevOps;
  • Knowledge of approaches to automated testing and best practices in code quality eg unit testing, integration testing, smoke testing, Quality Assurance, User Acceptance Testing;
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in a STEM subject.
