We are looking to hire high-energy, value-adding talent to join Modulr, the fastest growing payments business in the UK and Europe, to drive the evolution of our customer experience through the customer portal, ensuring they meet the highest standards, scalability, reliability and performance. This role will be pivotal in crafting innovative solutions that will impact millions of transactions daily. We are looking for an Edinburgh-based candidate to leverage our office-first strategy.

Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
The Senior Software Engineer is a vital role within Modulr and this role will support the continuous improvement and innovation of our frontend systems, ensuring they are robust, efficient and scalable.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Architect, develop and analyse scalable frontend services, APIs, and subsystems, ensuring comprehensive documentation and testing procedures are supported.
- Collaborate with other squads, teams and stakeholders to identify and implement effective software solutions.
- Take a lead in design and code reviews, ensuring high-quality standards and best practices.
- Continuously improve engineering standards, tooling and processes.
- Proactively identify and address issues, bottlenecks or areas for improvement.
- Work in an agile environment, using Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
- Coordinate with QA teams to ensure thorough testing and quality assurance.
- Document best practices and system designs to facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Analyse and troubleshoot existing systems to optimize performance.
