Senior Software Engineer II, Gameplay Systems – World of Warcraft - Boston, MA
We are looking for a skilled and experienced senior engineer to join the World of Warcraft Engineering team working on a large game system for a future release. As we celebrate the 20th anniversary of World of Warcraft in 2024, the world of Azeroth continues to evolve with new and exciting systems to come.
This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Boston, MA.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- High proficiency in C++
- Excellent data structure, logic, algorithm, and code architecture skills
- Experience developing in large distributed systems
- Self-motivation and willingness to participate in many areas of game development
- Excellent teamwork and communications skills
Responsibilities:
- Partner with technical leadership to learn the existing and future architecture for a large game system
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, and artists in a cross-discipline team to architect and build features from concept to delivery
- Mentor and guide engineers at all levels, either informally or through technical design reviews, code reviews, etc.
- Develop and improve workflows for engineers and other development partners
- Participate in and contribute to a culture of inclusion and diversity
