Senior Software Engineer (Image Processing and Machine Learning)

As the Senior Software Engineer, you will be the technical lead for our scientific instrument software development. You will be working closely with hardware/firmware/software engineers to define and develop the fully automated system to support our cutting-edge virus detection and identification equipment, from its concept to its deployment, using image processing and machine learning technology. You will be in charge of the software design and development through the entire product lifecycle and follow the Agile development methodology. This is a hands-on engineering leader opportunity to build a high-performance team of engineers from the ground up.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor or master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science of similar field

JOB REQUIREMENTS/ SPECIAL SKILL SETS

• Strong mathematical skills and background in image processing/computer vision including programming new image processing algorithm and tools
• Solid programming skills in C/C++/C#
• Familiar with Python, Linux and Qt would be an advantage
• Experience in solving complex technical problems while working with a multidisciplinary team of experts
• Strong analytical skill set, as well as high creativity, flexibility, and ability to think “out of the box”
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work with other functional teams, especially in a multi-site environment
• At least 3 years’ experience in related field within a R&D organization

• Work very closely with the system hardware engineering team on dissecting requirements, conducting system analysis, design, and review, to ensure our system software require least user intervention while maintaining its high performance and reliability.
• Responsible for designing and developing novel machine vision/image processing algorithms for object detection, classification and related areas while leading and hands-on at the same time.
• Responsible for developing and/or modifying tools for visual data analysis and verification.
