POSITION DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a Senior PHP Engineer with deep expertise in PHP and the Laravel framework. This role will be involved in building the next-generation Magnus Health product, serving nurses, school administrators, students, and parents. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable web applications. Collaborating with the team to deliver high-quality code, optimizing performance, and ensuring the technical quality of the solutions.
Being part of a team of software engineers, you will collaborate to make sure the solutions that are put in place align with business direction and technical objectives, whilst breaking down tasks, estimating and setting delivery expectations. Reporting to the Software Architect, you will have the opportunity to impact technical decisions and be involved in software architectural decisions.
You will support the adoption of a continuous delivery focused environment, working with our DevOps Engineers and taking advantage of the services in AWS.
REQUIREMENTS
- Extensive experience in PHP, Laravel (5+ years), with experience in Inertia being an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
- Expertise with RESTful APIs, including designing, integrating, and securing APIs for scalable web applications
- Proficient with database technologies including relational databases such as MySql and ORM frameworks such as Eloquent.
- Experience with JavaScript front-end technologies such as Vue.js.
- Proficiency with Git, for managing source code
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions, automated testing, deployment to AWS.
- Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker.
- Expertise in breaking down tasks and estimating development efforts.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

- Staying current with the latest technologies and trends in PHP, Laravel, Vue.js, and web development.
