Job Description
The Compute platform team is a dynamic and fast paced team that designs, develops, and maintains the foundational embedded software platform for SDV solutions, including drivers, operating system, BSP and software stack. We are developing a world-class GM experience for our customers and driving real change in the most iconic automaker on the planet. Our team delivers platform solutions for high end SoC’s which enables to run infotainment, ADAS and other high compute application. The Compute Platform Team is seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to lead and work with engineering teams across the software services and SoC vendors to build and manage a shared vehicle compute platform.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop high-performance hardware interfacing Linux kernel drivers and system libraries
  • Architect frameworks for our next generation of SoC based systems from conception to production
  • Collaborate with colleagues across multiple teams to driver kernel development strategies
  • Linux Kernel Debugging

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in kernel driver development
  • Solid understanding of Linux Kernel Frameworks (DMA, V4L2, ALSA, UART)
  • Experience with embedded build systems – e.g. Yocto, buildroot,OpenWrt
  • Knowledge of Linux Kernel Internals (e.g. memory management, synchronization, device driver framework)
  • Experience deploying commercial embedded Linux systems
  • Familiarity with ARM architectures
  • Experience working with the Linux kernel community and upstreaming drivers
  • Experience with bringup/validation/system level testing of SoC’s

  • The salary range for this role is $152,100 and $232,900. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
