Description:

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Dedication to software testing as a craft
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Degree in computer science, software engineering or related disciplines
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in software testing
  • Some experience as a test lead or prime on a major product
  • Demonstrated experience with at least some of the following technologies:
  • Scripting languages (particularly Python)
  • Testing tools such as Appium, Robotframework or visual / UI testing tools
  • General automation, tool, and development skills
  • Experience with Android and Linux platforms
  • Continuous integration systems such as TeamCity
  • Experience with UI and usability testing
  • Experience with Google Android EDLA certification

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

This role is a key member of our core software team, responsible for complex components and their integration across our embedded product offerings. Your initial focus will be on test planning, design, execution and automation for our embedded Android platform called SMART iQ, a highly visible and essential product with millions of users.
The successful candidate will quickly assume a test leadership position while working closely with all stakeholders from designers, developers and product management to hardware and support teams. You will work with the test and development teams on the choices of tools and technologies to enhance testing and test automation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborating on with your project team to determine test requirements
  • Working with program management to translate requirements into testable designs
  • Providing leadership in agile scrum and planning processes
  • Designing and executing stress, performance, scalability and other non-functional tests
  • Exploratory testing for individual components or features; finding and reporting defects
  • Communicating and summarizing status to stakeholders
  • Providing thought leadership, mentoring and coaching to the testing team and ensure best-proven test practices are observed across the team
  • Working with other test leaders to innovate and improve how the team performs
