1. BUILDING THE FUTURE OF TESTING AT SAFRAN

We want you to lead our testing team and define our test processes from scratch. You’ll help build a testing powerhouse. We’re not looking for someone to follow the steps but to make the steps.

WHAT MAKES YOU A GOOD MATCH:

We’re not just looking for someone with a checklist of qualifications, but if we have to make one, we think you should:

• Enjoy creating and organizing test documentation.
• Understand the difference between various test cases and when to apply them.
• Be comfortable reading and interpreting requirements, and not be afraid to challenge them.
• Be comfortable with testing terminology, such as unit and regression testing. You should also be able to explain why each is important at different stages.
• Feel at home defining testing strategies and setting up test environments.
• Be passionate about making sure our product is release-ready.
• Have the confidence and authority to say “no” when something doesn’t meet the mark.

Whether you’re a seasoned professional or fresh from university with the right knowledge, we’re open and willing to let you shape the role and the team. What matters is your drive to help us become better at testing. You’ll be the head of our current testing team of 2 (plus you), and we have ambitions to grow.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• DEFINING AND EXECUTING TEST CASESCan you create a test description so clear that anyone could follow it? Great, because that’s what we need.
• READING REQUIREMENTS AND GIVING FEEDBACKIt’s not just about doing what you’re told. We need you to ask, “What does ‘make it look nice’ mean, and how do we measure it?”
• PLANNING AND ESTIMATINGYou’ll define test conditions, estimate time frames, and group test cases logically. We trust you to know what’s necessary.
• TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE RELEASE DECISIONOne of our major clients is asking for an update, and the developers think it’s ready to go. If you think otherwise, we’ll need you to stand firm.
