Description:

At Bunnings, you’ll make a positive difference to our business and beyond.
Bunnings is the leading retailer of home improvement and lifestyle products in Australia and New Zealand and a major supplier to project builders, commercial tradespeople and the housing industry. Operating from a network of stores, trade centres, frame and truss sites, and online, Bunnings caters for consumer and commercial customers.
By joining our passionate and diverse team, you will have the opportunity to grow, develop, have fun and make a positive difference – to our customers and the communities where we live and work.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect to join the Bunnings Strategy & Architecture team.
About the role:
The Senior Solution Architect is a key role in Bunnings’ Strategy & Architecture function. Reporting to the Platform Architect for Customer, you will work across a variety of Transformation projects and be responsible for leading, influencing and developing the solution architectures for these projects.
Working closely with the Operations and Technology leaders, you will provide architectural leadership and guidance on delivering and integrating Bunnings’ chosen platform for many varied projects across all our customer engagement platforms. You will also advocate for solutions that have the appropriate balance between meeting the current business imperatives and minimizing future technical debt.
Working to a high degree of autonomy, the Senior Solution Architect will utilise their technical and business skills to work closely with the Enterprise Architects for strategic direction. This role will collaborate with the Enterprise Architects to reach technical decisions that support the business’ initiatives, ensuring proposed solutions will scale for the future and be well maintained.

What’s involved:

  • Focusing on which framework, platform, or tech-stack can be used to create solutions
  • Providing application roadmaps and finding a technology solution for any given business problem
  • Liaising with third parties for any integrations and associated risks
  • Staying current with IT trends and providing recommendations that could positively influence business performance
  • Adoption, demonstration, and promotion of Technology’s Vision and Values, working co-operatively with others to achieve the best outcomes

Who we’re looking for:
Led by the Platform Architect you will play a key role in collaborating with a variety of teams and stakeholders in problem solving and architecting solutions that address key business pain points and outcomes that need to be delivered.
You will be a team player who is adept at presenting in front of senior stakeholders and possess excellent communication, stakeholder management and facilitation skills. The Senior Solution Architect will have a specialisation in a specific area of Solution Architecture. For this role, an understanding of Digital eco system (website and apps and online shop) combined with a solid foundation in Customer Relationship Management would be of benefit.

To be successful for this role:

  • You are degree qualified in IT/tech with strong experience and understanding of Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and how to apply them
  • Ideally you will have experience working within the retail industry (highly advantageous) or you have come from a large complex national organisation
  • Success in this role depends on your ability to synthesize business outcomes with technology deployment – demonstrated experience in this will assist you greatly!
  • Excellent communication is critical for this role as you will be working closely with stakeholders across both IT and the broader business team within Bunnings
  • You are strategic in your approach; you are tech savvy and are focused on innovation and seeking out new ways for technology to solve business problems
  • You are a team player and enjoy working in a fast-paced organisation
