JOB DESCRIPTION

U.S. Bank is seeking a motivated Senior Solution Architect within U.S. Bank’s Integrated Card System (ICS). The candidate will have solution-based architecture experience that can contribute toward the success of our larger and more complex technology initiatives in a product-based, agile environment. The candidate will facilitate research, design, development, and integration of emerging technology architectures to align with business strategy goals and objectives. Candidate leads development of enterprise-wide technology architectures. Creates architectural principles to support business goals. Consults with senior managers and other IT professionals to develop IT frameworks that support business applications. Candidate Is able to create an intellectually understandable abstraction of a complex business and/or technology process change. Participates in the definition of non-functional requirements and ensures that the application architecture supports these requirements. Candidate provides strategic input for long-term application direction and executes on specific initiatives that support the long-term viability of the Integrated Card System. Ensures compliance with Enterprise Architecture, Technology Standards, and Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Planning. Leads and provides direction in evaluation of vendor products to determine conformance with bank technical standards and appropriate fit with business needs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least 10 years’ experience with the concepts, philosophies and tools behind the design of applications, information and underlying information technologies.
  • At least 10 years’ experience with developing and implementing applications.

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in Credit Card solutions (System development lifecycle)
  • Architecting solutions in a cloud platform like AWS, Azure, (Cloud architectural patterns, containerization, microservices)
  • Mainframe background required
  • Knowledge of PCI compliance and standards.
  • Hands on expertise in Micro-services architecture, Proven ability to guide the design of complex solutions from functional and non-functional requirements
  • The ability to develop effective conceptual diagrams and other architectural documentation is essential
  • Experience with Open API strategies
  • Experience with Product and vendor evaluation
  • Thorough knowledge in Information security management

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE OFFERS A HYBRID/FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE, WHICH MEANS THERE’S AN IN-OFFICE EXPECTATION OF 3 OR MORE DAYS PER WEEK AND THE FLEXIBILITY TO WORK OUTSIDE THE OFFICE LOCATION FOR THE OTHER DAYS.
