Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.
Perinatal Ultrasound is a tertiary level referral centre for Obstetric and Gynaecological ultrasound within Nepean Hospital and the applicant will be required to perform obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound examinations in accordance with ASUM guidelines.
We are currently seeking a Sonographer to join the team on a Temporary Full Time assignment. This position requires appropriate interaction with patients, relatives and other members of staff, and will also require our preferred candidate to be involved in teaching of students as well as participation in research projects within the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Under Graduate Degree (Medical Radiation Science for appointment as a Medical Radiation Scientist) and Post Graduate Qualification in Medical Ultrasound as recognised by ASAR
  • Registration with ASAR
  • Demonstrated high standard of knowledge, clinical experience in obstetric ultrasound across a range of examinations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, instruct and trainee sonographers and medical staff.
  • Demonstrated well-developed problem-solving skills.
  • Evidence of participation in a continuing Professional Development (CPD) program.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
