Microsoft’s Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! CSCP’s vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering Cloud Capacity Differentiated at Scale. Our mission is to deliver capacity for all cloud services predictably through intelligent systems driven by continuous learning and a world class organization.
The CSCP Organization is responsible fosoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters supporting services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries worldwide.
We are currently seeking a Senior Sourcing Manager traditional supply chain functions such as Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), decommissioning and disposition of Data Center assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft’s over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Micro to join our team. We are an early engagement technical sourcing team working from early concept development through design validation in NPI. Our Azure Category sourcing team focus on strategic categories which semiconductors is one of them.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 4+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles
- OR Master’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 3+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience driving strategy and maintaining relationships with suppliers.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Engineering experience.
- Previous Supply Chain experience with electric components.
- Master’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 8+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles.
Sourcing Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.

Responsibilities:
Our Senior Sourcing Manager will work closely with Microsoft engineering to partner in identifying opportunities to drive supply chain resiliency in the board architecture and layout. Also be responsible for supplier engagement and negotiation from cost to contracts and any licensing agreements.
The role is responsible for the following -
- Sourcing management
- Engage with cross-functional leadership including product design, quality, and business teams to determine best design solution and supply base to deliver that solution at optimal Supply Chain, continue of supply, and cost.
- Lead a supplier selection process to verify appropriate supplier is chosen with suitable capabilities for the given product while ensuring all potential suppliers meet the business, technical, and financial requirements of the program.
- Manage contracting activities with Legal and Contracts Management team and ensure contracts reflect appropriate business terms, IP protection, etc.
- Cost and operations management
- Build multi-sourcing strategy to mitigate risk and drive appropriate competition.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and drive suppliers for cost competitiveness with cost modelling and other sourcing tools.
- Run weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews with team on cost and operations Key Performace Index (KPIs).
- Manage ad-hoc cost issues e.g., tariffs / import export cost, cost inflation.
- Continuous improvement of all critical areas around supply, manufacturing, and cost.
- Manage NPI (New Product Introduction) development builds until mature enough to transition to sustaining sourcing team.
- Manage supplier performance and compliance
- Develop and enable introduction of new suppliers.
