Job Description

Relationship and Commercial Management

  • Scope of responsibilities including strategic sourcing and tactical purchasing including OEM products, electronic components and New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Support APBC initiatives and focus while aligning with SSO processes and initiatives.
  • Be a “Leader” with external partners and the business unit in preparing and implementing commercial strategies with external partners to achieve internal goals and initiatives.
  • Build effective relationship and communication skills at senior management levels within internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations and “messaging” to diverse audiences from supply chain to business management to senior management within Rockwell Automation and external partners.
  • Understand thoroughly and manage the requirements to fulfil the government incentive expected by the local authorities.

Commodity Management

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies on assigned commodities with regional and global commodity leads.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (global Sourcing team, Engineering, Operations, Business Units, Quality, etc.) in executing these strategies.
  • Participate and support Global Commodity Leads in managing global commodities.
  • Source and qualify new suppliers especially in low-cost region (LCR) countries in line with Rockwell commodities strategy.
  • Drive relentless improvements in quality, delivery, and cost to meet Strategic Sourcing targets and initiatives.
  • Keep abreast of design, product, and market requirements from Business Units and, in turn, share market and suppliers’ developments.

Supplier Management

  • Track and implement action plans with external partners and internal stakeholders to continuously improve Strategic Sourcing Key Performance Indicators (KPI) as well as support manufacturing locations regionally and globally.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with strategic and critical suppliers involving relevant stakeholders.

Attract, Develop, and Retain Talent

  • Coach and develop his/her team to build functional and leadership capabilities.
  • Continually review and explore development opportunities. Provide constructive feedback to drive improvements and/or corrections.
  • Facilitate and conduct information sharing to global commodity team and relevant stakeholders to enhance collaboration and adoption of best-practices.

Continuous Improvements.

  • Continually review supply base - source & develop new and potential suppliers to support the business requirements.
  • Conduct sourcing workshops to continuously build up the savings funnel to achieve year-on-year savings target.
  • Identify strategic sourcing best practices and drive these best practices into the Rockwell strategic sourcing toolkit and sourcing strategies.

Thorough Familiarity with Company Policies and Procedures.

  • Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws.
  • Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation information network.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Technical or business Degree ; Engineering degree highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive sourcing responsibilities, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and with at least 5 years’ experience of managing a team.
  • Experience and continual success in achieving net deflation and productivity is required.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing strategies.
  • Proven track record in the development and management of the sourcing function via both multi-site management responsibility and multi-commodity responsibility.
  • Regional sourcing experience in Asia Pacific highly preferred.
  • Travel : up to 50% (domestic & international)

Functional

  • Broad knowledge and exposure in managing 3rd party purchased finished goods and/or outsourced finished products
  • Possess well-rounded knowledge in strategic sourcing, supply chain, manufacturing and operational procurement
  • Knowledge and experience in contract review and commercial negotiation
  • Exposure in high-mix low-volume (HMLV) environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing in production environment and experience in implementing Kanban/Consignment systems highly preferred.

Interpersonal

  • Proven communication, negotiation, and presentation skills at local, regional and global levels.
  • Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams (Sourcing, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Business Units).
  • Strong cultural sensitivity to manage relationships across global boundaries and time zones
  • Understands and appreciates internal & external customers.

Business

  • Extensive knowledge of the marketplace conditions for a broad range of commodities including technology trend, supply & demand dynamics, supplier analysis, pricing and development including benchmarking.
  • Results-oriented with strong business acumen.

Rockwell Automation’s hybrid policy aligns that employees are expected to work at a Rockwell location at least Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays unless they have a business obligation out of the office
