Description:

We’re on the look out for a Senior Sous Chef to join our fantastic team of chefs at Farncombe. Tucked into the beautiful woodlands on our 500-acre Cotswolds Estate, Dormy House boasts two restaurants, The Back Garden (3 AA rosettes, Michelin Guide listed) and our “chef’s table” 12 seater tasting restaurant MO (4 AA rosettes, Michelin Guide listed) and our successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within both
You’ll help lead a team of hard working, friendly and organised chefs. Our kitchen boasts excellent ongoing investment and high quality equipment, which makes for a great work and learning environment. We work with amazing ingredients and suppliers, and have a great passion for sustainability and responsible sourcing.
The restaurant is overseen by Head Chef Mathieu Blanchard, who will ensure that you learn, develop and flourish on the Estate. If you’ve had experience of working in high quality, similar sized kitchens at a Sous Chef level previously, we’d love to hear from you.
We offer a salary package of just over £44,000 per year (£41,558 basic, plus around £3,000-£3,500 per year in service charge) based on a 48 hour week. We can also consider live in accommodation whilst you get yourself settled. Our 500 acre Estate of three award-winning hotels and kitchens (including Foxhill Manor and The Fish Hotel) is the perfect place to develop and learn and we regularly promote chefs across the estate to help boost their learning and career development.

We also offer a raft of excellent benefits including:

  • 30 days holiday per year (rising to 35 after 5 years)
  • A celebration birthday lunch in one of the hotels, on us!
  • Access to onsite mental health first aiders, and an employee assistance programme from Hospitality Action
  • Free access to wellbeing resources - online exercise classes, mindfulness tools and nutritious recipes
  • Hundreds of High Street discounts and a cash back card via Hospitality Rewards
  • Estate discounts on dining, stays, wine, spa products and more
  • A complimentary night stay including dinner for you and a guest, to experience our hotel just like our guests do!
  • Be rewarded with £1000 to spend how you wish in our employee recognition programme
  • Up to £1000 when you successfully refer a friend to work with us
  • Premium payments for Christmas and New Year shifts
  • An optional, low cost healthcare cash plan
  • Free, in-person financial planning advice
  • Broad ranging careers in all the usual hotel departments and a few you wouldn’t expect…like our adventure team
  • Fully funded apprenticeship opportunities

Due to our rural location, you will require your own transport (WR12 7LJ). If this sounds like your ideal next move, and you would like to discuss this role or any other opportunities on our estate, please do get in touch! We look forward to hearing from you.
We are members of the Hoteliers Charter, and are committed to providing a workplace built on respect, fairness, equality, diversity and opportunity, and to putting wellness and career development at the heart of what we do
