JOB DESCRIPTION

The Accounting Policies team is part of the group’s Financial Reporting and IFRS and is center of expertise for IFRS. The team consists of two persons in corporate, collaborating closely with the segment’s IFRS responsible and others in the Statkraft IFRS network.
The Accounting Policies team ensure correct and consistent implementation and application of IFRS within in the Group, are engaged in the quarterly and annual reporting including providing the audit committee with a report on relevant accounting matters. In addition, we lead the IFRS network, providing training and updates on IFRS standards, and are in lead of the impairment process. We ensure the quality of accounting issues related to M&A transactions, greenfield projects and restructuring efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree within finance, accounting and/or auditing, preferably CPA/MRR
  • Minimum five years of experience from larger audit firm or from a similar position in an international company
  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS in general and financial instruments in particular
  • Fluency in English and Norwegian languages, both written and spoken
  • Enjoy working in an international team and environment
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Good collaboration, communication and presentation skills

Responsibilities:

YOUR ROLE:

  • Be up to speed on the development of new/amended accounting standards and consider to what extent these changes will impact the Group’s external financial reporting
  • Planning and leading the implementation of new/amended accounting standards and interpretations
  • Update descriptions and guidelines of accounting policies for Statkraft
  • Train staff in connection with the implementation of new/revised accounting standards and/or Group policies
  • Provide support to Group entities in the day-to-day operation on issues related to interpretation of accounting standards and the Group’s policies.
  • Monitor and perform control activities in accordance with assigned roles and responsibilities in the Group’s internal control framework.
