Salary:
$85,846 - $93,740
Position Summary:
The Sr. Specialist, Benefits & Compensation provides day-to-day support to the APHL workforce at-large, including remote staff. This position coordinates the administration of People & Culture programs and functions including but not limited to: compensation, benefits administration, position descriptions, maintenance of employee data within our HRIS, and plans in accordance with policies and programs.
THIS IS A REMOTE-FRIENDLY POSITION THAT REQUIRES THE EMPLOYEE TO RESIDE WITHIN THE MARYLAND, NORTHERN VIRGINIA, OR WASHINGTON, DC AREA AS THERE IS REQUIRED OCCASIONAL IN-PERSON ATTENDANCE AT THE OFFICE, TYPICALLY UP TO 8 OR MORE TIMES PER YEAR. SOME OF THESE ON-SITE REQUIREMENTS MAY BE REQUESTED ON SHORT NOTICE.
Duties & Responsibilities:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, Human Resources, or other related field
- Graduate Degree preferred and could be substituted for work experience
- A minimum of 5+ years of direct benefits and compensation experience
- Supervisory experience required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
KNOWLEDGE
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of broad HR management subject matter
- Performs work under minimal supervision; works well in teams and individually
SKILLS
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products and ADP Workforce Now required.
ABILITIES
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Ability to build collaborative relationships and to foster teamwork
- Handles complex issues and problems,
- Has the ability to make logical decisions, carries out decisions
- Reports up potentially difficult or high-risk circumstances
CERTIFICATIONS
- SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP preferred
- Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CBES) preferred
APHL Weeks:: APHL Week is a Conference/Convention that is held at the APHL Home Office Bethesda, MD. This event is mandatory for all employees to attend. Travel and lodging will be reimbursed by APHL. Please Note: Reimbursement for travel and lodging may not be possible for employees that are local to the APHL Home Office.
