To comply with BSQR, maintaining quality with the Blood Transfusion department. To ensure that departmental policies/procedures are followed by staff within the work area. To establish and maintain the communication of any relevant information within the team to ensure the continual and efficient running of the service. To support BMS, Trainee BMS and MLA staff in answering more complex enquiries.
To actively participate in team meetings taking the lead as appropriate and to communicate effectively at all times. To communicate regularly with Lead BMSs, to ensure high quality standards and the smooth running of the department. To conduct, co-ordinate and minute departmental technical meetings as required by the Lead BMS. To attend, address, and lead meetings outside of the Department as appropriate.
To plan and prioritise the work of allocated sections to ensure that reporting of results is carried out in a timely fashion, deputising to cover for the absence of other Senior Specialist BMS staff. Please see Job Description and Person Specification for full details
