• The management of complex claims related to all logistics activities (transport, forwarding, warehousing, customs, value added services, etc.) of both the Belgian and foreign H.Essers entities, is part of your responsibilities.
• You collect the relevant information and autonomously compile the claim file from A to Z which you manage digitally in the internal database and Claims dashboard.
• You start with a correct legal liability analysis and determination of the claim amount, after which you determine which future actions are necessary. Here you decide independently about possible compensation, declarations, appointing experts, lawyers, etc., while of course monitoring the applicable budget. You ensure smooth processing.
• Depending on the complexity of the case and the financial interests, you consult with your direct colleagues, managers and departmental heads and/or other parties involved within the company.
• Your approach is multidisciplinary in which you maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, on an international scope (operational departments, finance, insurance companies and brokers, lawyers, experts and counterparties).
• In addition, you participate in various ad hoc projects both within your own department and across departmental boundaries.
• Periodically you draw up a report of the claims data and discuss this with management. You identify trends and formulate possible solutions and preventive actions.
• Finally, you distinguish yourself from your fellow claims managers, by the coordinating and supporting role you take on with respect to the claims-satellite-handlers in the various H.Essers branches, in Belgium and abroad. Both on site and remotely, you strive from your expertise and soft skills to achieve optimal, uniform and harmonized claims management within the international group
