Description:
UVA Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking applications for a Senior/Specialist Network Engineer to support the Enterprise Infrastructure team. This position is responsible for the core routing network on the UVA Academic side, including MPLS implementation, and a broad spectrum of core technologies across load balancing, core firewalls, network segmentation and performance management. The position has recently expanded from on-premises networking to cloud networking and hybrid models. The selected candidate will be required to participate in an on-call support rotation.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of experience with Network Architecture and Design OR Equivalent combination of education, experience, and certifications
- Network expertise in design and operations in any/all of the following areas
DNS/DDNS
- Cloud networking (Azure, AWS) including hybrid interconnections
- Hands-on experience with Juniper, Cisco routing and firewalls, Fortigate, Juniper switching
- Demonstrated background in Network operations best practices: Reliability, change control, Root cause analysis, CMDB, documentation (ITILv4 practices)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- CCNA equivalent certification
Anticipated hiring range : $120,000 - $135,000

Position Compensation Range: $73,453.00 - $146,905.00 Annual
