We are looking for a talented individual to join our team in the position of Senior Specialist – Network Strategy and Spatial Analytics. This individual will be responsible for maintaining and improving the data processes supporting the Network Strategy and Spatial Analytics team in North American Physical Channels.
Using a wide variety of specialized tools, the individual will take ownership of key activities surrounding upkeep and improvement of the team’s extensive data warehouse. Integrating extensive proprietary and externally acquired data, the data warehouse is the foundation of the Team’s sophisticated geographical information system (GIS). The team focusses on tracking, analyzing, and reporting on our Branch and ATM networks, associated markets, and competitive presence across the North American footprint.
Key Accountabilities:
- Maintain and enhance daily/weekly/monthly data processes to provide timely, accurate updates to team’s extensive databases.
- Improve and automate current processes using a variety of tools (SAS, GIS, SQL).
- Craft, document and communicate on procedures, QA/QC activities and investigation results when variances encountered.
- Identify and provide solutions on data quality issues encountered during course of duties.
- Research, develop and implement new data feeds/methods to support the team’s objectives.
- Understands key/critical data elements, their application, and effectively communicate same to teammates, leadership, and partners across the Bank.
- Manage, prioritize, and respond to ad-hoc requests.
- Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of relevant experience, and post-secondary degree in related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of relational databases, with an emphasis on SQL programming
- Intermediate to extensive experience with GIS systems and SAS
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Programming experience in other languages (e.g., Python, VBA)
- Familiarity with Branch Banking (products and services), retail location analysis, and demographic/customer-specific data
- Knowledge of BMO’s data framework / core systems an asset.
