The Pension Leadership Office is seeking a Senior Specialist, Operations & Strategy. Reporting directly to the Associate Director of the Pension Leadership Office, you will play a key role in supporting the pensions executive leadership team. Your responsibilities will include leading special projects and initiatives, preparing executive communications and presentations, and supporting planning sessions and leadership offsites.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with all pension teams and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of initiatives. You will be expected to embody the OMERS vision and core values in all your work.
As a member of the Pension Leadership Office team, you will engage in the following:
Prepare executive communications, preparing briefings, reports, presentations and other communications for the Chief Pension Officer
Support the Associate Director, Pension Leadership Office in leading and managing regular Pension Leadership Team cadence (e.g., Pension Team Leadership meetings, executive strategy planning sessions, leadership offsites)
Lead and manage special projects and initiatives, ensuring they are completed on time
Taking a lead role in the planning and managing cross-department initiatives, including Townhalls and People-Leader Forums, ensuring all activities are understood and completed in sequence accurately and on a timely basis, while ensuring high-quality results
Check in regularly with all stakeholders to ensure regular project monitoring activities, including setting up meeting cadence, preparation of meeting minutes, developing action items, task completion, adherence to testing and documentation disciplines, and project reporting needs
Maintaining and improve internal processes and documentation
Managing our internal and external communication channels – leading and executing our communications plan, developing draft communications, engaging with our internal and external partners, managing member engagement protocols

Responsibilities:

A university/college degree with a focus in management, operations, or equivalent practical experience
3-5 years of Operational & Strategic planning experience
A history of making an impact and delivering superior results in the short and long term
Superior PowerPoint and presentation skills (designer level experience considered an asset)
Experience in project management activities to ensure timely completion of initiatives
Knowledge of pension plans, systems and processes is an asset
