POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Specialist, Project Management plays a critical role in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and evaluation of strategic initiatives aimed at optimizing program outcomes and enhancing organizational effectiveness. Reporting to the Director of Quality, this position requires a strong background in project management, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
Leveraging skills in change management, implementation and project management, the Senior Specialist is responsible for successful initiation, planning, execution, control and closure of priority projects across the enterprise. The Senior Specialist effectively supports our internal and external stakeholders, shapes and manages priority projects, and ensures our efforts align to our goals and outcomes.
By employing data-driven methodologies and project management practices, taking into account NPower Canada’s corporate culture, needs and structure, they guide project teams in execution of strategies aimed at optimizing efficiencies in operations. The incumbent will contribute to NPower Canada’s mission by driving initiatives that support the continuous improvement of program delivery, stakeholder engagement, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Execution

  • Act as a point of contact for designated projects,ensuring clear communication and alignment with project objectives
  • Work with agency Executive Sponsor(s) and project team to guide the development of organization-level initiatives, ensuring the required approvals, funding and resources are identified.
  • Create a detailed work plan building out key deliverables and processes. Estimate the duration of the project, determine the resource allocation and schedule tasks, timelines and milestones needed to successfully complete the project.
  • Develop and deliver project reports, proposals, briefing notes, requirements documentation and presentations.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure effective execution of projects within scope, budget, and timeline parameters.
  • Anticipates project specific risks and minimizes impact of change on program delivery.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including program participants, industry partners, and funders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback, solicit input, and ensure alignment with project objectives and priorities.
  • Collaborate with various functional teams, including program management, business development, finance, and human resources, to ensure alignment and integration of project activities.
  • Facilitate communication and knowledge sharing across departments to foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
  • Help senior leadership with initiatives and projects that enhance client journey, satisfaction, and trust in NPC, while reducing risk.
  • Helps to build organizational capacity for improvement, and shares knowledge of project mgmt principles legislated standards and quality. improvement methodology. (e.g., reliable design, PDSA, root cause analysis, FMEA, lean, value stream mapping).

    Process Optimization

  • Identify opportunities with management teams to streamline workflows, eliminate redundancies, and improve operational efficiency across functional areas.

  • Implement best practices and standards for project management and process improvement initiatives.

    Data Analysis and Quality Assurance and Evaluation

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret relevant data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities related to program outcomes and organizational performance.

  • Generate actionable insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Develop and implement frameworks for assessing program effectiveness, quality, and impact.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track progress and measure success against established benchmarks.
