The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) position at Accelya is comprised of many facets. It requires an individual who has a broad range of technical experience from CSP administration, networking, system/environment administration to DevOps to even certain areas of application development. Application installation, configuration and maintenance of our Accelya Offer/Order platform, APM and monitoring tools are a key area of focus and responsibility. As this is a critical operational support position, a high amount of troubleshooting prowess is needed to diagnose problem areas and find root cause in accordance with strict SLAs behind airline systems that control flight operations. This team is our last line of break/fix defense.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of operation of our highly available, scalable, SaaS platform hosted exclusively in AWS. As a member of cloud ops-sec team, you will be the escalation point from the initial triaging teams for the AWS environment / platform.
  • Analyze and diagnose problem areas related to the AWS platform, system level (Windows and/or Linux) and basic networking level stemming from incidents in the Accelya Offer/Order platform.
  • Strong cloud networking experience required: VPCs, TGWs, DXCs, ACLs, SGs, VPNs.
  • Implementation of solution architecture from cloud architect team into all AWS environments. Training and adoption of L1 teams around solution and support.
  • Adhere to enterprise change control processes & procedures, applying skillset in line with not only change control, but all processes and procedures.
  • Work with Cloud security team to ensure environment changes comply with existing compliance policies and standards.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher education) in engineering, computer science, information technology, or mathematics.
  • 5+ years DevOps experience, with focus on building CI/CD pipeline, application build creation and integration with 3rd party or proprietary services.
  • 5+ years of experience with AWS, including involvement in publishing underlying applications/services in a public manner (public cloud).
  • 8+ years scripting, inclusive of process/task automation, application build out, and additional application instrumentation for troubleshooting and logging.
  • AWS cloud security controls implementations experience essential.
  • AWS certifications are a plus.
