Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of systems engineering or technology architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of Linux experience, UNIX server systems administrative engineering and support experience, or combination of both
- 4+ years of troubleshooting skills (Ability to direct and oversee escalated technical troubleshooting and complex analysis efforts for prompt recovery of major issues)
- 4+ years of Platform and Application support
- 4+ years of creating alerts and dashboards using monitoring tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana, Thousand eyes etc.
- 3+ years of experience with Apache webserver

Responsibilities:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Specialty Systems Operations Engineer to join our Branch Systems Technology Transformation (BSTT) team under Consumer Technology Platform organization. In order to be successful, you will need to be a focused, self-motivated technologist who prioritizes stability of the application and infrastructure above all else.
As a key member of our team, you’ll leverage your expertise to review and analyze complex technical challenges, making decisions on enhancements and improvements to existing systems. Your role will involve collaborating with engineering teams on change design and consulting with technical peers and managers to resolve support issues and drive new initiatives forward. With your solid understanding of technical process controls and standards, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of our technology landscape.
In this role, you will:
- Support a suite of applications across varying technologies
- Lead or participate in managing all installed systems and infrastructure, moderately complex application upgrades and vulnerability remediation efforts, within the Systems Operations functional area
- Lead team to meet moderately complex technical deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
- Act independently as a liaison for the line of business in support of daily inquiries, problem and incident management, project delivery, and escalations by following established guidebooks
- Provide cross-functional and cross-organizational coordination on root cause analysis for any production issues
- Drive recovery efforts during incident calls. Gather essential information for root cause analysis and stability improvement
- Liaise with functional or operational managers to understand their current and future information needs and develop plans and schedules for integrating these needs into existing operations
- Recommend solutions to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability by automating platform activities to lower human intervention time on related tasks
- Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
- Facilitate discussions on preventative action, root cause analysis and resolutions with service management
- Collaborate and consult with peers, mid-level managers, vendors and other technical personnel to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability and reliability
- Provide training and mentoring to lower experienced team members on guidebook changes and lead team to meet technical deliverables, while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
- Collaborate with development teams to update business continuity plans and provide input on development of new and existing support guidebooks
- Learn new tools and concepts in platform engineering space to implement automation, building and testing CI/CD pipelines, Ansible, Prometheus, and Cloud engineering concepts etc.
- Contribute to increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks
