Scantec FMCG Recruitment are partnering with fantastic food manufacturing business at one of their sites in Northwich, to recruit a Senior Specifications Technologist. This requirement is due to growth within the department and further support needed. This business can offer genuine career development & progression.
Reporting to the Specifications Manager, your role as Senior Specifications Technologist will be to ensure that all customer product specifications and artwork comply with all legal / food safety / quality requirements. To generate and maintain accurate finished product specifications for all customers and own brand products and manage the specification process end to end.
IDEAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
We’re seeking a technologist with previous experience in a similar role within the food industry. Experience of online retailer specification portals & strong understanding of food labelling regulations and food safety standards. Personal Profile: . Proven artwork experience (nutritional, ingredient declarations etc). A food related degree ideally or equivalent qualification (advantageous).
Responsibilities:
- Manage customer specifications via multiple online portals, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Support and develop specification technologist team.
- Support NPD and procurement teams with interpretation of food regulations, customer policies and codes of practice.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, quality control, and production, to gather necessary information
- Check product artwork and sign off packaging to ensure compliance with UK and EU regulations and customer requirements.
- Assist in external and third-party audits, presenting information as required. Encourage and drive the site’s food safety culture to prevent deviations affecting product safety, quality, and legality.
