Description:
About the role
- To provide high quality Acute General Medicine services within Metro North Health.
- The appointee will be expected to be involved in undergraduate and post graduate teaching, clinical research and quality assurance activities for Metro North Health services.
- Ensure policies, procedures and practices are consistent with contemporary best practice, Professional College, Queensland and National standards.
- Ensure an optimal training experience in terms of knowledge and skills development for junior medical staff, medical students and other staff as appropriate.
- Participate in Continuing Professional Development activities as required by the Medical Board and the relevant specialist colleges.
- Foster the development of expertise in General Medicine of physician trainees, resident medical officer and medical students, and to be involved in performance appraisal and feedback.
About you
- The Applicant must possess a Medical Degree or an equivalent qualification from a tertiary institution which is acceptable to the Medical Board of Australia (MBA) for registration as a medical practitioner in Australia.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP)
- Specialist Registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Physician in General Medicine or has substantially progressed towards completing the requirements within 6 months to be awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).
- Appointment to this position requires proof of General registration and registration as a Specialist with the Medical Board of Australia. Certified copies of relevant registration must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
- The successful applicant must be credentialed and awarded a Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) by the appropriate Metro North Hospital Health Medical Credentialing Committee. This process must be completed prior to commencement. All appointments are subject to the maintenance of SoCP within the Clinical Services Capability Framework (CSCF) for the facility in which the appointee may undertake clinical duties.
- CVs must not have gaps in medical employment and medical education histories. Where such gaps exist they must be noted with an explanation for the gap. An incomplete CV may result in your application not being considered
