Description:

This exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Strategic Category Manager in the Strategic Category Management team within the Medicines Procurement and Efficiencies team which is part of the Medicines Value & Access Directorate - Chief Financial Officer Group.
The role is part of a team of 14 who are responsible for category procurement delivery, aligned with the NHS priorities and delivery of savings. The role will have a small team of people to manage and help to deliver the String of Pearls pipeline.
This role can be based at one of our main locations - London, Leeds or Runcorn.
As Senior Strategic Category Manager you will work as part of a dynamic team and be responsibility for the operational delivery of a portfolio of assigned projects within the Strategic Category Management Team.

Responsibilities:

Contribute to, and where appropriate lead, the development and delivery of allocated Strategic Category Management (SCM) projects, working with key stakeholders to identify and prioritise medicines and other technology opportunities that would benefit from an innovative, complex and/or bespoke intervention and/or procurement for the benefit of the NHS.
Develop and execute category management plans that include building a clear understanding of the organisation’s key value objectives for each category and then developing a set of executable strategies that meet those objectives.
Work closely with stakeholders throughout the development and implementation of SCM projects, including National Clinical Directors and Speciality Advisors; NHSE Clinical Reference Groups; NICE; Medicines Procurement & Efficiencies.
Contribute to design and implementation of assigned category strategies to deliver clinical and financial benefits (including complex / bespoke procurements), aligned with NHS priorities.
Responsible for day to day work within assigned projects and associated team members whilst allocated to those projects.
