Description:

WHAT YOU BRING

  • University Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Mathematics Statistics, or other quantitative discipline.
  • 3-5 years of working experience in Retail Merchandise Assortments
  • Experience in a supervisory role is an asset
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of SQL is an asset.
  • Experience conducting cohort analysis, and customer segmentation
  • Experience working with customer level data is considered an asset.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the AVP of Merchandise Planning and Allocation Transformation, this individual will be required to understand how Mark’s fits into the CTC Enterprise Vision for Merchandise Planning and Allocation for Optimal Store Level Assortments.
The accountability of the Mark’s Strategic Planning Manager will be to manage integrating New, and Non-Comp Real Estate opportunities, Customer data and Merchandise Plans, into an AI driven store location planning process. The objective is to better assort our stores with the correct assortments for our customers. Reporting into the Manager of Strategic Planning is both a Data Scientist position as well as a Channel Planner Role.

The Strategic Planning Team will be responsible to deliver:

  • Annual and Seasonal Merchandise Location Sales Plans by Channels
  • Bricks and Mortar, ECommerce and Mark’s Commercial Channels
  • Seasonal Store Clustered Plan Data for Planners and Merchant Teams
  • Monthly and Seasonal AI Merchandise Forecasts to support the Merchants and Planners with directional trend analysis to support Planning as required
  • Provide Ad Hoc Store Assortment Recommendations based on Loyalty and Market Data
  • Data knowledge – you understand the importance of integrating customer data into how we plan store assortments
  • Passion for data, technology, and implementing technology for process improvement.
  • Business Savvy – you have a proven track record for turning data into actionable insights and business value.
  • Communication – you’re a data storyteller with the ability to craft compelling narratives that share ideas & insights succinctly.

  • The Strategic Planning Manager will work with the following cross functional teams: CTC Real Estate Teams, Marks Merchandise Purchasing Teams, Mark’s Strategy Data Analytics & Business Insight Team, Mark’s Store Operations, Forecasting and Analysis Teams, Mark’s Financial Planning and Decision Support Teams
