What you are being asked to buy into
The Singapore office is at a point of significant change. We’ve just started the integration of these Media, Creative, Content, Research, Data & Platform capabilities. Our 7 Islands Operating System is helping to make this a meaningful reality for our people & partners and a compelling proposition for clients.
This is an opportunity, for a curious and restless individual, to join and to help shape the future direction of the Singapore office and some of the services it offers. This individual will have demonstrated an active interest in Marketing/Media/Creative. Ultimately, they will want to work in partnership with the Strategy Leads in the team who specialise in: I) Brand, Creative & Content strategy, ii) Channel and Connections strategy, iii) Business consultancy.
Life as a Strategist at Merkle B2B
To lead intelligence gathering and insight development on clients and new business opportunities.

Key deliverables for the role:

  • Intelligence & insights on customers (e.g. Desk research, journey analysis, GWI, social listening and search analytics).
  • Intelligence & insights about a company, its categories, and competitors.
  • Intelligence & insight on channels (owned and paid).
  • Intelligence & insights into the bigger context (e.g. Cultural, economic & technological) for clients.
  • The codes and conventions of a category.
  • Getting to the real problem that we are trying to solve.
  • Coherent strategies that matches a customer need.
  • Finding a way to solve the business challenge by devising strategies to increase revenue, cut costs, promote growth. Examples of broader recommendations include:
  • Digital transformation strategy.
  • Partnership approach.
  • Product development roadmap.
  • Organisational change management.
  • Creating and presenting analysis reports.
  • Begin to identify the opportunity spaces based on all the above.

Will work independently and sometimes partner with others in the strategy team to create proposals around:

  • Brand & proposition strategy. Brand, product & service development.
  • Creative & content strategy. Creative & content development.
  • Customer strategy and business growth strategy. Segmentation & growth plan development.
  • Channel & connections strategy. Paid and owned media activation.
  • Journey led transformation strategy.

Experience / knowledge required

  • 8+ years of working experience preferably within a B2B agency and/or technology company
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to confidently communicate with senior stakeholders
  • Strong business acumen
  • Highly enthusiastic, self-motivated, meticulous, and detail orientated
  • A confident and safe pair of hands for both the agency and clients
  • Strong time management skills with an ability to prioritise
  • Up-to-date on relevant marketing trends and innovations
  • Works well individually and as a team player
  • Strong oral/written communication
  • Bachelor’s degree/Higher Diploma

The successful candidate will be:
