We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in either Manchester, Edinburgh or Glasgow.

Responsibilities:
WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE?
Working as a Senior Engineer in the Energy Infrastructure team we will offer you exposure to varied project work, operating both client side and in a design and build environment. Engaging with our clients in partnership to develop the most effective design solutions for projects that help meet the challenges of net zero emissions.
You will undertake (engineering) design and development through the application of proven techniques and procedures to develop appropriate solutions to customer problems including:
- Undertaking and leading significant elements of the detailed design, such as drawings, specifications, reports and calculations, to achieve the optimum solution for the project.
- Working in both supervised and unsupervised environments ensuring that the technical content of all work carried out is correct and delivered in accordance with agreed timescales and budgets.
- Ensuring that all work is carried out to the Company’s IMS, and current H&S legislation requirements.
- Ensuring that solutions meet client needs and that expectations are met or exceeded.
- Working in close collaboration with team members of other disciplines and have an appreciation of their role.
- Providing technical guidance and training to less experienced employees and assisting the mentoring and development of colleagues.
- Liaising with our clients and supervising works on site when required.
- Recommending / implementing improvements to technical policy, processes and design solutions.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU’LL POSSESS:
- A relevant degree (or other suitable qualification and associated experience) and either have or be close to achieving a relevant professional qualification.
- Strong experience of design software packages and a sound understanding of their use in the design process for BIM.
- Experience of undertaking design particularly of steel and concrete structures.
- Experience of working on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Experience of statutory or third-party approvals.
- Good organisational and stakeholder management skills required to support multiple live projects.
- Knowledge and experience in the energy sector (advantageous but not mandatory).
- A sound understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 to ensure Safety by Design best practices are achieved.
- A good all-round understanding of quality management systems and processes.
