THE OPPORTUNITY

Boeing Phantom Works - Global (PWG) is seeking a candidate for the role of Senior Systems Engineer to join a new and exciting project. You will work within a Project Team across interdisciplinary groups developing exciting new technologies to support and grow Australia’s defence capability. This will range from early concept definition, working hand-in-hand with Operational Analysts and customers, through to developing integration and test plans.

RESPONSIBILITES

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will apply an interdisciplinary approach to the development of governance frameworks and documentation to help guide and assist the new PWG project delivering innovative solutions of high quality to our stakeholders, both internal and external. Establishing and coordinating a range of regular Project governance activities will also fall within your scope including Change Control, Safety Review, Risk, Issue & Opportunity Boards.
We are currently seeking candidates who have a minimum of five years’ experience in the application of systems engineering understanding.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to the tasks described above, you will be required to work cooperatively within the larger PW-I Team and possesses the following attributes:

  • Experience in Autonomous Systems is advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts in both written and verbal formats to management as well as the technical team is required.
  • Fluency in the use of Microsoft (MS) Office Tools and able to independently produce PowerPoint briefings, MS Project schedules, MS Word Documents, and generate and manipulate Excel files is required.
  • Systems engineering background including understanding and use of Australian Defence Force (ADF) and industry standard practices and procedures.
  • Experience deriving and decomposing requirements from use cases and usingmodel base engineering tools ) for requirements tracking is highly desirable.
  • Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering including the use of Dassault Systems Cameo suite of products is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of software development cycles using both Waterfall and Agile methods and processes is highly desirable.
  • Skills, domain knowledge, or experience with safety and certification requirements for aviation products would be advantageous.
  • Some experience in avionics, hardware design and integration would be advantageous.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering, Computer Science, and/or Systems Engineering.
