Team Carney, a dynamic performance solutions company, is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator. This individual will manage our client’s computer systems and networks to ensure the stability, security and efficiency.
CONTINGENT - Anticipated July 2025 Start
Hybrid/Remote position

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Install, securely configure, and troubleshoot cloud-based virtual machines (VMs) including Internet Information Services (IIS) web server, Oracle MySQL database server, and Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS) running on MS Windows operating systems
• Perform system monitoring and reporting. Consult on network, application, and customer service issues to support computer systems’ security and sustainability
• Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability of DoD systems security by conducting security self-assessments and addressing vulnerabilities identified through various means

Basic Qualifications:

• Open to occasional travel to Fort Meade, MD or Letterkenny Army Depot Chambersburg, PA for site and system access.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical area and 6+ years of experience
• OR A High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) credential and a minimum of five (5) years of work experience may be substituted for an Bachelor’s degree.
• DoD 8570.1M relevant security certification (i.e., Security + or equivalent) required or ability to obtain within 90 days of hiring.
• One of the following certifications are required: CCNA Security, CySA+ (formerly CSA+), GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP.
• Advanced knowledge of and ability to administer server-based systems, network devices, virtual machines, and cloud-based services.
• Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) networks such as NIPRNet and SIPRNet, their underlying systems, and related DoD cybersecurity requirements highly desired.
• Working knowledge of database systems, WordPress, and multiple operating systems a plus. Be familiar with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and DoD vulnerability management processes.
• Must have an active DOD Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CISSP, Microsoft server certifications, AWS certifications.
• VMware Certified Technical Associate.
• Amazon Web Services Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional).
• Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).

Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws.
The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and is based on full-time status. Part-time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represent the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements) and is just one component of Team Carney’s total compensation package for employees. Posted Salary Range: USD $80,00.00 - USD $160,000 /Yr
