REQUIREMENTS
- Hands on experience working with the implementation and maintenance of Confluent Platform
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
- Strong understanding of networking and the capability to coordinate with different teams such as the networking and CICD teams
- Exposure to automating processes and maintaining automated scripts
- Proven history working with the Kafka Confluent Stack, Terraform, Kubernetes Containers, Cloud GCP, Cloud AWS, and Jenkins
- Familiar with Python, Shell scripting and automation
- Knowledge of Linux, PagerDuty, Uptrends and HELM
- Relevant certifications (such as Confluent Certified Developer or Administrator for Apache Kafka) would be a plus
Responsibilities:
- Install and provision new Kafka clusters and the supporting components
- Monitor the health and performance of the Kafka platform and data pipeline as well as perform regular performance tuning
- Identify and fix issues related to the platform including data pipelines, network problems, cloud or containerization resources failures and software bugs
- Upgrade the Kafka platform to newer versions, including the planning, testing, and implementation
- Manage the security of the Kafka platform including access control lists, encryption, regular security reviews as well as perform regular backups & disaster recovery procedures
- Support existing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration Management (CM) automations & pipelines
- Maintain and enhance onboarding automation scripts to reduce the number of tickets via self-service
- Assist with Kafka self-service automations for Topic, RBAC, Schema and connectors management
- Implement new features within the clients product roadmap, in coordination with the Platform owner
