SAGE Automation are currently seeking applications from experienced Senior Systems Engineers to join our team in Tasmania, ideally based in Hobart however other locations may be considered.
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Senior Systems Engineers will have proven advanced design and delivery expertise in electrical engineering and/or control systems engineering. They are accountable for successfully and competently delivering complex engineering solutions for projects within requirements, schedule and budget in their area(s) of expertise. They provide mentoring and leadership and have the ability to lead a technical team. This includes taking accountability for the team’s performance in achieving schedule, quality and budget targets.
Senior Systems Engineers build effective customer relationships, identifying new opportunities and actively participate in the sales process and development of project bids that best position SAGE to secure new business.

Key Result Areas include but are not limited to:

  • Implement safety plans and apply a safety-first approach to every aspect of project delivery.
  • Design and deliver technical solutions that meet the requirements and scope of the project.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risk, escalating high risk items to management.
  • Manage and promptly resolve project issues.
  • Manage changes to the technical outcomes of the project.
  • Manage and track tasks to complete projects within budget and time constraints.
  • Plan and manage the quality of technical deliverables.
  • Adhere to our internal processes and project methodology.
  • When assigned as a project Technical Lead, they are accountable for these KRAs for the entire project including the coordination of other technical team members.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

You will have an appropriate Electrical Engineering qualification combined with verifiable industry experience working within the automation industry. You will have demonstrable knowledge of good engineering practices and principles.
Candidates with excellent communications skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders to elicit and understand their requirements in order to deliver a high-quality service, will be highly regarded.
This position will ideally be based in Hobart however other locations may be considered.
