It’s an exciting time for SEA as we expand our Canadian operations and team. We are currently looking for outstanding people to form the core of our growing team in Ottawa.
As the Senior Systems Engineer you will be responsible for the design, development and support of our products in Canada. You will be a key member of the SEA Canada team, working closely with our customers and system engineers in the UK to progress the design, development, verification and validation, test, commissioning and in-service support of highly engineered naval systems.

THE SKILLS YOU NEED

  • Extensive knowledge of highly engineered naval systems and the maritime domain.
  • Extensive experience in the Verification and Validation of complex systems in defence environments.
  • A good understanding of requirements capture and experience using DOORS to manage requirements.
  • The ability to work within multi-functional teams to deliver common goals.
  • Strong Leadership and team leading capabilities.
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • The ability to achieve a Canadian security clearance.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Work collaboratively with design authorities and production engineering to develop and implement plans to manufacture highly engineered naval systems, validate their performance and transition them into service.
  • Manage the capture, analysis, traceability, configuration and verification and validation of product requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to Business Development, including the generation of technical proposals and bids.
  • Coordinate and lead the delivery of engineering work packages, including the definition of technical work package and resource effort estimation.
  • Define system architectures that will drive system design.
  • Carry out functional and non-functional system analyses.
  • Lead system integration verification and validation activities and manage issue resolution.
  • Plan and track progress of engineering assignments within agreed schedules, to quality standards and budget in accordance with project and company processes.
  • Assist in the evaluation and application of new technology and methods to the design, development and support of current and future products.
