Job Description:
The Senior Tax Analyst will complete domestic and international tax compliance, tax accounting and tax reporting for the Honda Canada entities. In addition, participate in special projects where needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University education required – Business/Accounting degree strongly preferred;
  • Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA);
  • Completion or enrollment in the CICA in-depth tax course program or a Master’s Degree in Taxation;
  • 3+ years of experience working in Canadian Corporate Tax;
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills;
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Good interpersonal relationship skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare high quality work products with respect to direct and indirect domestic and international tax compliance, as it affects Honda Canada. This would include such activities as preparing T2s, commodity tax returns, NR4s, T106s, GMT returns, EIFEL calculations, etc…
  • Support tax audits affecting the company by liaising with government auditors,
  • Liaise with international business units to support global transfer pricing policies, conduct analysis and prepare/maintain documentation,
  • Enhancing technical skills by remaining up to date on trends, new legislative developments, and tax authority decisions, and communicate implications as they relate to Honda Canada,
  • Perform research and analysis regarding various transactions affecting the companies and explain applicable tax treatments to minimize the tax risks,
  • Support the financial planning and reporting related to tax accounting, including internal control responsibilities, book-to-tax adjustments, tax cashflow forecasting, tax payments and refunds,
  • Work on special tax projects and other facets of tax as needs arise.
