Job Responsibilities :
We are seeking a highly driven Senior Tax Specialist to join our team in our Malaysia office. This compliance-focused role will be part of the Global Tax Team, reporting to the Tax Manager in Razer Malaysia. You will be responsible for managing direct/indirect tax compliance and statutory tax reporting, with a focus on leading tax initiatives globally within Razer Services Business Units (Razer Gold and FIUU). You will interface with the global Management Team and collaborate with various cross functional teams to implement global tax strategies. This role offers opportunities for tackle challenges and making an impact in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage direct and indirect tax negotiations, process implementations, and compliance at local, country, and regional levels for various jurisdictions globally.
  • Manage outsourced direct and indirect tax compliance in the region.
  • Deliver quarterly income tax provisioning, including the assessment of valuation allowance considerations and uncertain tax positions.
  • Manage tax audits and interactions with tax and governmental agencies throughout the region.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams within the company as well as external tax advisors located throughout the region to implement tax strategies.
  • Manage the entities’ transfer pricing policies and ensure compliance from a transfer pricing perspective. Performing cost calculations to ensure that the arm’s length rate is maintained within the group
  • Interface with local finance and operational teams to support the business in implementing new product rollouts, understanding tax impacts of different approaches to transactions and contracting, advising on intercompany transactions, and supporting proper tax accounting treatment of transactions.
  • Actively monitor, communicate, and document the impact of changes in global tax laws to the Management Team and Business Units. Implement changes in reporting/systems where required.
  • Perform research and analysis on significant transactions in the region and maintain documented tax technical advice and update the relevant stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Manage special projects in the region, providing input and manage portions of tax integration for newly acquired businesses as appropriate.

Pre-Requisites :

  • A university graduate in Accounting and Finance. A member of a recognized professional body such as MIA, ACCA, CPA or an advanced taxation qualification is added advantage
  • A minimum 4 - 6 years of corporate income tax and/or indirect tax experience within a Big 4 firm or relevant tax experience in a multinational corporation. A candidate with experiences in International Tax, Transfer Pricing and/or Cross-Border Transactions is encouraged to apply.
