Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
As a Senior Tax Associate, you will be a key part of the tax team, handling a range of complex tax matters for both corporate and individual clients. This role requires an individual with strong technical expertise, exceptional analytical skills, and a proactive approach to client service. You will play an integral role in managing client relationships, performing detailed tax research, and ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education and Certification: CPA designation and a recognized In-Depth Tax Certificate.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting with a strong background in tax.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in tax preparation and accounting software; advanced knowledge of Canadian tax laws and regulations.
- Other Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Attributes: Client-focused mindset, ability to work independently, and strong organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review complex corporate, personal, and trust tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
- Provide tax planning and advisory services for a diverse portfolio of clients, including small to mid-sized businesses and high-net-worth individuals.
- Conduct in-depth tax research and stay current on changes to tax legislation, communicating relevant updates to clients and team members.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to provide clients with integrated solutions that consider all areas of their financial picture.
- Manage multiple client engagements, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend tax strategies to clients.
- Mentor and support junior team members, providing guidance and sharing knowledge to help develop their skills.
