The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a Senior Tax Manager to join our team in South Melbourne. In this instrumental role, you will report to the Group Head of Tax ANZ and work primarily within the Infrastructure Division, while also supporting the Energy Division and Concessions Divisions.
You will play a critical role within a multinational group, managing and advising on the tax affairs across multiple regions, including Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Indonesia.
You will support our tax compliance function, provide strategic tax advice, and manage cross-border tax issues related to large-scale infrastructure and renewable energy projects, joint ventures, and financing structures with a focus on ensuring tax efficiency, governance, and alignment with Acciona’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Advise on large-scale projects, PPPs, joint ventures, financing, and corporate acquisitions and divestitures while proactively managing tax risks.
  • Support international tax functions across the Asia-Pacific region, offering expertise in transfer pricing, tax treaties, and cross-border structuring.
  • Assist with the submission of all tax filings and reporting, including Income Tax, GST, FBT, R&D, CbC , and Transparency Reports for Australian entities and support Asia Pacific tax filings in collaboration with local teams and advisors.
  • Assist with monthly to annual tax reporting, coordinating with finance teams and auditors during the year-end tax audit process.
  • Advise on indirect taxes, such as GST and withholding taxes, for infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
  • Drive tax risk management and governance, process improvement and efficiency initiatives.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong experience in tax, preferably with experience at a Big-4 accounting firm, law firm, or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian tax law and international tax principles, with experience in construction, infrastructure, large-scale project environments, joint ventures, PPPs, project finance, cross-border tax structuring and tax treaties.
  • Expertise in managing tax compliance and reporting for large multinational organisations.
  • Legal Practising Certificate and Postgraduate (Tax) qualifications are beneficial, but not required.
