The Opportunity
“The role holder will be a UK tax expert whose responsibilities include compliance and reporting for the FICO UK businesses and for identifying, evaluating, and implementing UK tax planning opportunities (while maintaining consistency with FICO global tax principles, policies, and strategies) and for optimizing the tax reporting processes.” - Senior Director, Tax.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare Corporation Tax returns and quarterly and annual reporting.
  • Related income tax compliance and reporting, e.g., Diverted Profit Tax, Transfer Pricing, International Movement of Capital, Controlled Foreign Corporation, etc.
  • Tax Reporting for audited UK Financial Statements.
  • Monitor impacts and opportunities of tax legislation changes upon FICO’s operations in the UK.
  • Identify business and tax risks to ensure tax compliance.
  • Identify and implement local tax planning opportunities ensuring that appropriate tax reliefs are obtained to reduce taxes paid (with alignment and approval from Global Tax) while maintaining consistency with FICO’s global tax principles, policies and strategies and published UK Tax Strategy.
  • Group tax planning – executes UK aspects of group tax planning projects and initiatives.
  • Funding/repatriation – collaborates effectively with local and Global treasury to provide tax advice of proposed funding and repatriation of funds from legal entities.
  • Develop/maintains relationship with external tax advisors and business units optimizing the efficiency of income tax compliance.

What We’re Seeking

  • Professional degree, Chartered Accountant certification and/or Chartered Tax certification with extensive work experience with UK corporate tax issues and concepts.
  • The job holder will need to be able to learn and understand complex technical issues quickly and have strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships and communicate with associates at all levels across the business.
  • Able to combine UK tax functional knowledge and business acumen to give practical UK tax advice and navigate complex challenges.
  • Experience of Financial Control and Accounting will be helpful.
