Enphase is seeking a highly effective and driven Senior Team Lead Mechanical Engineer specializing in the thermal design to join our high-performing team based at our Research and Development Center located in Middleton, Christchurch.

VISA REQUIREMENTS:

Enphase Energy NZ is currently only considering candidates for this role with New Zealand permanent residency or citizenship

Responsibilities:

  • Design electromechanical products within strict thermal performance parameters
  • Build and test prototypes to validate thermal design concepts
  • Identify and validate high-reliability materials and components suitable for prolonged environmental exposure
  • Conduct thermal simulations to predict temperature distribution and heat flow
  • Model and assess different thermal management mechanisms
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate thermal performance under varied environmental conditions
  • Perform accelerated life testing to simulate long-term exposure to environmental factors
  • Analyse test data and refine designs based on findings
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers
  • Document design processes, test results, and validation procedures
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Optimize designs for cost, performance, and manufacturability
