QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Any “Technical Assistant” according to the German educational system (BTA, CTA, MTA, UTA, MLTA, …)
  • Any “Laborant” according to the German educational system (Biologie-Laborant, Chemie-Laborant, …)
  • Bachelor of Science with a biological, biotechnological or (bio-)chemical background

SKILLS

  • Proficiency in English and German, both written and spoken
  • Basic knowledge of gene therapy, AAV vectors and their applications
  • Experience with analytical methods such as qPCR, ddPCR, ELISA
  • Experience with adherent and suspension cell culture technology
  • A high level of accuracy, reliability, and attention to detail
  • A familiarity with electronic laboratory notebooks
  • A strong sense of responsibility and initiative

Responsibilities:

  • Support and interact with a multi-disciplinary development team bringing together all aspects of characterization and improvement of AAV-based viral vectors for gene therapy
  • Perform cell culture of adherent and suspension mammalian cell lines
  • Execute small-scale production and purification of AAV vectors
  • Perform broad range of analytical assays to characterize AAV vectors
  • Perform molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning, sequencing
  • Record, document and report experimental results and data
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments
