JOB TITLE: Senior Technical Delivery Manager, Complex Pensions and Migrations
SALARY: £80,000 – £103,000 (dependent on experience)
LOCATIONS: Edinburgh / Dundee
HOURS: Full-Time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites
About This Opportunity
The Senior Technical Delivery Manager leads their team to ensure the delivery of highly, technical change. You’ll coach others in the team to achieve delivery excellence as well as acting as an advocate for the Technical Change Delivery field.
This role sits within our Complex Pensions & Migrations Lab where you’ll work alongside a very experienced team in the Embark and Retirement Account platform space to deliver regulatory & customer change and help enable migrations from our legacy solutions to our new Scottish Widows Platform (hosted by Embark / FNZ).
The role requires strong and efficient leadership for comprehensive and complex technical initiatives, defining and contributing to the strategic direction of the area. You’ll support the wider group and work with multiple partners, by providing deep technical expertise, and lead the group in the delivery of technical programmes.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of sophisticated highly technical deliverables that underpins the technical strategy, enabling build, migration and safe decommissioning of fated platform solutions.
  • Deliver organisational change plans and achieving outcomes that supports the overall strategy.
  • Develop short to medium term objectives and takes ownership for implementing and coordinating the performance management culture, implementing formal development framework, while informally mentoring others throughout the organisation in area of expertise.
  • Deliver the risk management and/or control policies and procedures within the IT programme.
  • Lead the delivery and takes personal responsibility for supplier relationships / business critical initiatives for the delivery platform.
  • Provide integrated long-term IT solutions and strategies for an area of responsibility, e.g., a function to support the execution of business strategy, whilst utilising the right technology platforms and application areas across the Group, maintaining relationships with strategic internal customers and act as their business partner, while using multi-disciplinary support / delivery teams to ensure their satisfaction.
  • Uncover emerging issues and/or needs and identify potential causes, related issues, key partners and barriers.
  • Recommend ways to improve support for operations by changing policies, processes, standards and practices. Identifies shortcomings, then suggests and implements improvements to existing business practices
  • Identify and evaluate complex expertise-led solutions against a variety of criteria to find the ones that best meet business needs.
  • Analyse and evaluate the feasibility/relevance of proposals for sophisticated products/services, then develops and amends as necessary and/or supervises activities performed through multiple product development/specialist teams.

Skills & Experience You’ll Bring

  • Preferably knowledge of Lloyds Banking Group organisational structures and processes, with direct experience of Pension and Investment business applications and services
  • Knowledge of one or more technologies to allow delivery of key critical initiatives.
  • Takes ownership for setting and managing an area so that they align with organisational strategy.
  • Takes responsibility to formally grow capabilities within a functional area / programme of the business, while personally investing in the growth of own and others’ capabilities elsewhere in the organisation through mentoring and other informal methods.
  • Leading senior relationships - engaging with internal customers to understand their long-term strategic challenges, while using large support / delivery teams to meet their strategic requirements.
  • Support the overall organisational strategy by developing and delivering operational outcomes
  • Experience of leading functional areas using agile methodologies / tools whilst bringing a wider background in all typical delivery frameworks and approaches to ensure success.
