Description:
In this role, Senior Technical Program Manager will be an integral driver for the Windows Application Compatibility team’s charter. The Compat team ensures that the Windows OS continues to be the platform of choice in the ecosystem. Our job is to ensure that millions of unique applications and devices “just work.” This sounds simple, but it’s a deep and broad space that offers a lot of complexity and learnings. Your role will be as a partner to the engineering team that owns a very critical piece of infrastructure, the App Compat Gates (ACG). These gates ensure that new Windows features and monthly servicing do not introduce app compatibility issues into the Windows build.
As part of the ACG team, you’ll be working closely with a team of engineers that build tooling and infrastructure for these Gates. This means driving feature work with existing technology, including planning activities and spec writing. This role also will drive analyzing data to understand the state of the Gates and how these can be improved over time. This includes working within the Windows organization to investigate and leverage new technology to improve ACG efficiencies and our ability to detect and drive bug fixes, such as AI or other automation solutions.
If improving the experience for over a billion users excites you, if you have a real passion to support customers and understand the complexity of the OS while working with a supportive and dynamic team, then please reach out. We’d love to hear from you!
Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.
